Author's copy of A Visit to the Monastery of La Trappe, in 1817, with notes taken during a tour through Le Perche, Normandy, Bretagne, Poitou, Anjou, Le Bocage, Touraine, Orleanois, and the environs of Paris; illustrated with numerous coloured engravings, from drawings made on the spot, by W. D. Fellowes, (London: Printed for William Stockdale, 1818). Heavily annotated and extra-illustrated in hand of the author, and with clippings and engravings which are tipped and laid in. The author originally gave the volume to his sister; after her ca. 1830 death he acquired it and annotated it with descriptions of the changes that had taken place in France since the book was first published. Original inscription clipped from the top of the title page. Author's ANS on the verso of the title page requests that the book be given to his granddaughter. Among the clippings laid in is an article from a ca. 1820 Malta Gazette based on his book, which is affixed to a letter to Fellowes dated 22 June 1820, from J. Campbell regarding the article.
